Auntie Ool by jtchristie

Format: Commander

Commander: Auntie Ool, Cursewretch

Bracket: 3

Deck overview

This is a Jund -1/-1 counter attrition deck built around Auntie Ool, Cursewretch. The core plan is to put -1/-1 counters everywhere, convert those counters into tokens, cards, and life loss, and then either grind the table out with locking creatures or finish with a Blowfly Infestation engine loop. The commander is a repeatable draw engine whose ward cost additionally taxes opponents: targeting her means blighting their own creatures, which usually costs them life and sometimes feeds your token engines. In practice, Hapatra, Vizier of Poisons may be the real build-around in the 99, generating deathtouch Snakes on every counter placement. The deck also packs proliferate synergies, wither combat, and mana sinks like Cabal Coffers and Black Market to power Exsanguinate as a late-game kill. It is a value/midrange deck with a compact combo finish rather than a fast combo deck.
