Deck overview

This deck is a Dimir Surveil Reanimator strategy commanded by Mirko, Obsessive Theorist. The primary game plan revolves around casting early surveil spells and mana rocks to set up the graveyard and deploy Mirko on curve. As you surveil, Mirko grows with +1/+1 counters, allowing his end-step trigger to repeatedly reanimate progressively larger creatures from the graveyard at zero mana cost. The deck smoothly transitions from recurring early utility creatures for card draw and board control into deploying devastating late-game bombs like Doom Whisperer, Sheoldred, Whispering One, and Massacre Wurm. Counter-manipulation tools such as Nesting Grounds and Soul Diviner can strip finality counters to allow repeated reanimation loops. Supported by efficient countermagic and scalable sweepers like Toxic Deluge, the deck grinds down opposing life totals and finishes the table through evasive combat damage and devastating drain triggers from Gray Merchant of Asphodel.
