Deck overview

This Dragonlord Ojutai deck is an Azorius Voltron control build designed to turn commander combat damage into a fast, protected clock while generating steady card advantage. The central strategy exploits Dragonlord Ojutai's built-in hexproof while untapped by granting it vigilance through enchantments and equipment like Brave the Sands, Sentinel's Eyes, and Ring of Thune. Once vigilance is established, Ojutai attacks freely without ever losing hexproof, triggering its Anticipate ability on every combat hit to continuously dig for counterspells and removal. Damage multipliers such as Duelist's Heritage, Flaming Fist, Steel of the Godhead, and All That Glitters accelerate Ojutai into a rapid two-turn or one-turn lethal commander damage threat against each opponent. The rest of the deck provides defensive redundancy, featuring low-cost countermagic, asymmetric board wipes like Single Combat and Promise of Loyalty, and an alternate win condition in Approach of the Second Sun.
