Deck overview

Fumulus, the Infestation leads a mono-black aristocrats deck that weaponizes symmetric sacrifice effects into an evasive token army and compounding life drain. The deck accelerates through early mana rocks and rituals to cast Fumulus on Turn 4. On Turn 5, it deploys edict creatures like Fleshbag Marauder and Plaguecrafter to strip opposing boards of nontoken creatures. While opponents lose key threats, Fumulus converts those sacrifices into 1/1 flying Insect tokens. These tokens fuel draw engines such as Skullclamp and Deadly Dispute, or power devastating attrition engines like Grave Pact and Braids, Arisen Nightmare. The deck closes games over three combat cycles through Fumulus's attack drain and Mirkwood Bats triggers, achieving table lethal around Turn 8. While the deck boasts oppressive creature control and resilient graveyard recursion, it suffers from prolonged sweeper vulnerability and a complete lack of artifact, enchantment, and stack interaction.
