Deck overview

This is a Jund lands-and-sacrifice deck built around Szarel, Genesis Shepherd: it ramps hard, fills the graveyard with lands, plays them back from the graveyard, and steadily converts sacrificed permanents into cards, counters, tokens, and life loss. Szarel ties the halves together - flying, land recursion from the graveyard, and a +1/+1-counter payoff for every nontoken permanent you sacrifice during your turn - but she is not the only engine; The Gitrog Monster, Soul of Windgrace, and Ramunap Excavator function as hidden commanders. The primary path to victory is overwhelming landfall token production from Scute Swarm, Omnath, Locus of Rage, Titania, Protector of Argoth, and Rampaging Baloths, finished with drain triggers from Blood Artist, Zulaport Cutthroat, and Bastion of Remembrance once the tokens are sacrificed for mana. A Gitrog + Dakmor Salvage dredge loop into Splendid Reclamation is the deck's explosive high-ceiling finish.
