AGristocrats Fixed by lawrencehammer

Format: Commander

Commander: Grist, the Hunger Tide

Bracket: 3

Deck overview

This is a Golgari Insect aristocrats deck built around Grist, the Hunger Tide - a planeswalker on the battlefield but a 1/1 Insect creature in every other zone, so the deck can tutor it with Chord of Calling or Finale of Devastation and reanimate it with Unearth, Cauldron of Essence, or Profane Command, sidestepping commander tax entirely. The core plan: flood the board with Insect tokens (Grist's +1, Ant Queen, Hornet Queen, Amzu, Swarm's Hunger, Crawling Infestation, Aatchik, Emerald Radian, Izoni, Thousand-Eyed, and the saga The Hunger Tide Rises), feed them to Ashnod's Altar, Phyrexian Altar, Altar of Dementia, and Nantuko Husk, and convert every death into life loss with Blood Artist, Zulaport Cutthroat, Cauldron of Essence, The Meathook Massacre, Grave Pact, and Dictate of Erebos. The primary kill is the infinite altar + Pitiless Plunderer + Reassembling Skeleton/Endless Cockroaches loop, paid out as drain, mill, or one-sided board strip; Bloodletter of Aclazotz doubles the drain on your turn.
