Deck overview

This deck is a high-power Rakdos combo-burn list built around Smaug the Impenetrable. The strategy turns noncombat damage dealt to your 8/7 indestructible commander into bursts of Treasure tokens. By pairing Smaug with repeatable damage sources like Pyrohemia or Pestilence and artifact-entry pingers like Reckless Fireweaver or Mirkwood Bats, you create self-funding loops that deal lethal damage to all opponents in a single turn. Spells like Cut Propulsion and Self-Destruct act as massive one-shot mana rituals by dealing heavy damage to Smaug. Free and low-cost redirection spells such as Deflecting Swat and Bolt Bend shield your high-CMC commander from exile removal. If Smaug is removed or unavailable, backup enablers like Brash Taunter and damage multipliers like Fiery Emancipation maintain direct burn pressure. The deck combines explosive Treasure velocity with resilient combo finishes.
