Deck overview

This Rakdos deck is piloted by The Infamous Cruelclaw, focusing on aggressively deploying the commander on Turn 3 and connecting in combat on Turn 4 to bypass the mana costs of game-warping 6–10 CMC spells. By discarding a card upon dealing combat damage, Cruelclaw casts catastrophic payoffs directly from exile, including Army of the Damned, In Garruk's Wake, Captive Audience, and Drakuseth, Maw of Flames. The list features dedicated cheap equipment to ensure Cruelclaw attacks safely, such as Lightning Greaves, Swiftfoot Boots, and Brotherhood Regalia. While the deck possesses explosive tempo through free spells, its performance depends on combat connections and randomized top-deck exiles without the aid of tutors. Opponents are kept off-balance through asymmetric board wipes and punisher effects while massive creatures close out the game over multiple combat phases.
