Deck overview

This deck is a synergistic Golgari Food Aristocrats engine built around Ygra, Eater of All. Ygra turns every other creature into a Food artifact. This static ability triggers exponential growth on Ygra whenever any creature dies or a token is sacrificed, while heavily penalizing single-target removal through Ygra's Ward cost. The deck accelerates through low-cost ramp spells on early turns, deploying Ygra by Turn 4. From there, it converts creature and token sacrifices into massive life drain via Mirkwood Bats, Marionette Apprentice, and Zulaport Cutthroat. It also leverages unique synergies like Fade from History, which acts as a one-sided board wipe that massively buffs Ygra, and Manglehorn, which forces all opposing creatures to enter tapped. The deck finishes games through lethal commander damage, aristocrat life drain, Jarad, Golgari Lich Lord flings, or the infinite combo between Chatterfang, Squirrel General and Pitiless Plunderer.
