Deck overview

This Mardu deck utilizes Celes, Rune Knight as a hand-sculpting engine and combo piece. The primary strategy focuses on setting up an infinite persist loop. When Putrid Goblin dies, it returns with a -1/-1 counter via persist, which immediately triggers Celes to put a +1/+1 counter on all your creatures, removing the -1/-1 counter through state-based actions. Sacrificing the Goblin repeatedly to Goblin Bombardment, Viscera Seer, or Ashnod's Altar with a drain effect like Blood Artist produces infinite damage and eliminates all opponents in a single turn. The deck is supported by efficient 2-mana ramp, flexible creature tutoring from Recruiter of the Guard, and heavy recursion from Animate Dead, Sun Titan, and Victimize. If the commander is unavailable, secondary lines featuring Luminous Broodmoth or Nim Deathmantle provide reliable backup routes to victory.
