Deck overview

This deck executes an aggressive Golgari Elfball strategy centered around Lathril, Blade of the Elves. The primary plan leverages low-cost mana dorks to deploy Lathril ahead of curve on Turn 3, utilizing her menace ability on Turn 4 to generate a growing squad of 1/1 Elf Warrior tokens. By Turn 5, token multipliers such as Elven Ambush or consecutive Elf casts push the total Elf count to ten or more, unlocking Lathril's potent tap ability to drain each opponent for 10 life and gain 10 life. Heavy mana generators like Priest of Titania and Elvish Archdruid fuel rapid board expansion, while payoffs like Shaman of the Pack, Skemfar Shadowsage, and Timberwatch Elf provide alternate burst damage paths. Although the deck recovers moderately well through independent Elf lords if Lathril is removed, its reliance on a packed creature board leaves it vulnerable to sweepers due to a low density of reactive protection.
