Deck overview

This deck leverages Azlask, the Swelling Scourge as both an experience counter accumulator and a devastating overrun outlet in the command zone. The game plan focuses on deploying efficient Eldrazi Drone creatures and enchantments that flood the battlefield with colorless Eldrazi Scion and Spawn tokens. As these tokens are sacrificed for mana velocity or chump blocking, they permanently increase experience counters across Azlask and secondary counter engines like Meren of Clan Nel Toth and Minthara, Merciless Soul. Once the deck fixes all five colors through versatile utility lands, mana rocks, or Path of Annihilation, it activates Azlask's five-color ability to transform an unassuming token swarm into an indestructible army with annihilator 1. Backup overrun options such as Craterhoof Behemoth and Akroma's Will ensure the deck can close out games without relying strictly on the commander.
