Deck overview

This deck is a high-synergy Golgari token and Squirrel strategy commanded by Hazel of the Rootbloom. The game plan accelerates mana on early turns with cheap dorks, rocks, and utility tokens. Once Hazel enters the battlefield, she acts as both an exponential token cloner and a massive mana engine, tapping untapped tokens to produce colored mana. The deck converts this immense board presence and mana advantage into decisive victories through team-wide combat finishers like Craterhoof Behemoth, Triumph of the Hordes, and Overwhelming Stampede, or through infinite Squirrel generation with Ivy Lane Denizen and Scurry Oak. Secondary Aristocrats payoffs like Mirkwood Bats, Blood Artist, and Cauldron of Essence ensure opponents suffer severe life loss as tokens enter and die. While the deck boasts rapid recovery and strong creature-based interaction through Chatterfang, Squirrel General, it relies on proactive swarming and natural redundancy due to a lean protective suite against mass sweepers.
