Deck overview

This deck is a dedicated Mono-Green Persist Combo engine commanded by Melira, Sylvok Outcast. Melira’s static ability prevents -1/-1 counters from being placed on your creatures. This negates the drawback of the persist mechanic on creatures like Lesser Masticore, Aerie Ouphes, and Woodfall Primus, allowing them to return to the battlefield indefinitely when sacrificed. The primary game plan accelerates through dense one- and two-mana ramp to assemble Melira alongside a persist creature and a sacrifice outlet such as Blasting Station, Phyrexian Altar, or Greater Good. Once assembled on Turns 4 to 5, the deck loops sacrifices to generate infinite damage via Blasting Station or Walking Ballista, or permanently wipes all opposing noncreature permanents with Woodfall Primus. The deck supports this game plan with redundant counter-negators like Renata, Called to the Hunt, robust green creature tutors, and low-cost protection spells like Heroic Intervention and Allosaurus Shepherd to safeguard the win.
