Deck overview

This five-color deck pairs a formidable pillowfort defensive strategy with a compact instant-win combo. In the early game, the deck accelerates mana using premium artifacts like Sol Ring, Mana Vault, and Chrome Mox to deploy asymmetric attack taxes such as Ghostly Prison, Propaganda, Collective Restraint, and Peacekeeper. These fortifications neutralize creature-based aggression, buying ample time and safety. Meanwhile, card advantage engines like Rhystic Study and Esper Sentinel replenish hand size and dig for key cards. Tutors including Demonic Tutor, Vampiric Tutor, and Enlightened Tutor assemble the game-ending combo of Heliod, Sun-Crowned and Walking Ballista. Once Heliod grants lifelink to Ballista, removing counters triggers continuous lifegain and counter replacement, dealing infinite damage across the table. If the primary combo is answered, the deck easily pivots to generating flying Angel armies with Luminarch Ascension or leveraging planeswalker value to close out the game.
