Deck overview

This deck is a Grixis Spellslinger strategy built around Fire Lord Azula. Azula generates two red mana whenever she attacks and copies any spell cast while she is attacking. The deck leverages this ability during combat to duplicate instant-speed card draw, removal, and burn spells for free. It converts this card velocity into game-winning pressure through Magecraft payoffs like Ral, Storm Conduit, Professor Onyx, Fiery Inscription, and Veyran, Voice of Duality. Low-cost interaction and phasing protection like March of Swirling Mist and Slip Out the Back keep Azula safe while she attacks. In the late game, the deck closes matches by chaining copied big-mana spells such as Invoke Calamity and Magma Opus, or by locking opponents out of the board with Hullbreaker Horror.
