Commander: Kodama of the East Tree and Vial Smasher the Fierce

Bracket: 2

Deck overview

This is a Jund "cast massive spells" partner deck built around Vial Smasher the Fierce and Kodama of the East Tree. The plan is to ramp or cheat out enormous permanents, use Vial Smasher the Fierce to turn the first spell each turn into a damage burst equal to its mana value, and use Kodama of the East Tree to chain additional permanents from hand every time a big permanent enters. The primary win is a swarm of high-power finishers - Blightsteel Colossus, Worldspine Wurm, Impervious Greatwurm, and Etali, Primal Conqueror - backed by direct damage from Terror of the Peaks, Warstorm Surge, and Sarkhan's Unsealing. Cheat engines like Sneak Attack, Quicksilver Amulet, Elvish Piper, Tooth and Nail, and Selvala's Stampede accelerate the plan. It is a high-variance battlecruiser deck: explosive when the pieces line up, but constrained by a top-heavy curve and almost no stack interaction.
