Ms. Shirei's Spooky Loops by aerialviolet

Format: Commander

Commander: Shirei, Shizo's Caretaker

Bracket: 2

Deck overview

This deck is a mono-black aristocrats value engine helmed by Shirei, Shizo's Caretaker, built entirely around recurring creatures with power 1 or less. The primary game plan is to deploy a suite of small utility creatures-each offering death triggers, card draw, or token generation-and use sacrifice outlets to repeatedly trigger drain effects like Blood Artist and Zulaport Cutthroat. Shirei returns those creatures at each end step, creating a closed loop of value that grinds the table down over several turns. The deck wins through incremental life loss rather than fast combo, leaning on Pitiless Plunderer for mana acceleration and Grave Pact for board control. The commander is the central engine; without her, the recursion stops and the 1/1s become one-shot resources.
