Deck overview

This Dimir control deck uses Garland, Royal Kidnapper to exploit multiplayer dynamics through theft, goad, and the monarch mechanic. By granting the monarch to an opponent on entry, Garland immediately steals their best creature, buffs it by +2/+2, and prevents them from sacrificing it. The deck runs a dense package of two-mana ramp rocks to cast Garland ahead of curve, followed by persistent goad enchantments and creatures that force opponents to attack one another. Mid-to-late game power turns deploy game-ending theft spells such as Sepulchral Primordial, Subjugate the Hobbits, and The Cyber-Controller to overwhelm the board with stolen assets. Protection spells like Fake Your Own Death and countermagic keep key threats safe from removal, allowing the deck to close games through unblockable combat pressure and forced attrition.
