Deck overview

This deck is a synergistic Rakdos Treasure Aristocrats list helmed by Smaug, Wicked Worm. The game plan centers on converting artifact token production into sustained card advantage, mana velocity, and table-wide life loss. In the early game, the deck establishes mana rocks and incremental treasure engines such as Descent into Avernus, Treasure Map, and Grim Hireling. Once Smaug enters, he creates a pool of Treasure tokens based on opposing artifacts and turns every spell cast using Treasure mana into a card-drawing cantrip. The deck translates this velocity into a win through aristocrat pingers like Mirkwood Bats, Mayhem Devil, and Marionette Apprentice, backed by alternate win conditions like Revel in Riches and Hellkite Tyrant. Lacking infinite combos and tutors, the deck relies on dense synergy and draw volume. It recovers well from spot removal but remains vulnerable to sweeping artifact and creature wipes.
