Deck overview

This Golgari deck leverages Chatterfang, Squirrel General to convert any token creation into an overwhelming army of 1/1 Squirrel creature tokens. By doubling the output of Treasures, Foods, and creature tokens, the deck rapidly establishes a wide board state that fuels both aggressive combat finishes and aristocrat drain engines. Early turns focus on ramping out Chatterfang ahead of curve, followed by high-yield token generators like Deep Forest Hermit, Chittering Witch, and Academy Manufactor. Chatterfang acts as a built-in removal outlet, spending squirrel tokens to clear opposing blockers and high-threat commanders. The deck closes games around turns 5 to 6 using mass pump effects such as Beastmaster Ascension or through life drain from Marionette Apprentice, Zulaport Cutthroat, and Nadier's Nightblade. While the deck has high functional redundancy, its primary vulnerabilities are board sweepers and a lack of instant-speed stack interaction.
