Format: Commander

Commander: Miss Highwater

Bracket: 3

Deck overview

This is a mono-black discard-punishment deck helmed by Miss Highwater. The primary strategy is to force opponents to discard their hands through effects like Bandit's Talent, Chain of Smog, and Tinybones, Bauble Burglar, then convert those discards into life loss, card advantage, and tokens via Liliana's Caress, Waste Not, Geth's Grimoire, and Sheoldred, the Apocalypse. The commander's combat trigger offers a political contract that can later generate token copies of an opponent's artifacts and creatures when that player dies. The deck closes games through commander damage (using pump spells like Hatred or Vorpal Sword's game-loss ability), incremental drain, or the alternate win conditions of Phage the Untouchable, Summon: Primal Odin, and Strixhaven Stadium. The deck is resilient to commander removal because the discard-punishment core functions independently of Miss Highwater.
