Deck overview

This deck is a high-powered competitive Izzet combo-control list helmed by Niv-Mizzet, Parun. The primary strategy accelerates into Niv-Mizzet using dense positive mana rocks and rituals, then enchants or soulbonds the commander with Curiosity, Ophidian Eye, or Tandem Lookout. Once attached, any card draw or instant/sorcery cast triggers an infinite loop of direct damage pings and card draws, burning opponents down or drawing into Underworld Breach and Brain Freeze to close the game on the spot. Backed by free countermagic, deflection spells, and Hexing Squelcher, the combo is exceptionally difficult for opponents to disrupt on the stack. In scenarios where Niv-Mizzet is removed or locked out, the deck transitions into compact Underworld Breach storm lines or Isochron Scepter untap engines, maintaining rapid win viability.
