New HORIZONS SMAUG by Phareux56

Format: Commander

Commander: Smaug the Magnificent

Bracket: 3

Deck overview

Smaug the Magnificent leads a mono-red Treasure Dragon deck that wins through combat and direct damage, not infinite combos. The primary plan builds Treasures with dragons and support pieces, then uses Smaug's attack trigger to burn any target for the number of Treasures you control while dragons deal combat damage. Secondary paths include artifact-enter pings from Ingenious Artillerist, Reckless Fireweaver and Weftstalker Ardent, and alternate wins with Hellkite Tyrant at 20 artifacts and Knuckles the Echidna at 30. Extra combats from Scourge of the Throne, Full Throttle and Seize the Day double Smaug triggers and dragon damage. Smaug acts as repeatable removal and payoff; Goldspan Dragon and Ancient Copper Dragon function as hidden commanders that accelerate Treasure production.
