Deck overview

This Rakdos deck is commanded by Valgavoth, Harrower of Souls, an Elder Demon that turns incremental opponent life loss into +1/+1 counters and card draw on every player's turn. The game plan centers on deploying low-cost continuous damage sources such as Roiling Vortex, Razorkin Needlehead, and Kederekt Parasite during the opening turns. Once Valgavoth lands on turn 3 or 4, these punishers trigger its ability during every opponent's turn cycle, drawing up to three extra cards per rotation and rapidly scaling the commander's combat stats. Mid-game payoffs like Sheoldred, the Apocalypse, Solphim, Mayhem Dominus, and The Lord of Pain compound the pressure, punishing routine game actions and disabling lifegain. The deck finishes games through lethal evasive commander damage, sweeping burn spells like Chandra's Ignition, or an un-tutored infinite life drain loop with Exquisite Blood and Vito, Thorn of the Dusk Rose.
