Deck overview

This deck is a synergistic Mardu Assassin reanimator list led by Altaïr Ibn-La'Ahad. The primary plan focuses on seeding the graveyard with impactful Assassin creatures using Entomb, Faithless Looting, and Cathartic Reunion. Once Altaïr attacks, he exiles these Assassins with memory counters to create tapped and attacking token copies each combat phase. Crucially, memory counters remain on exiled cards even if Altaïr leaves the battlefield, ensuring resilient scaling upon recasting. The deck converts this token generation into lethal damage using damage amplifiers such as Neriv, Heart of the Storm, Bayek of Siwa, and Isshin, Two Heavens as One, alongside life-halving pressure from Unstoppable Slasher. A robust interaction suite of free commander spells, efficient spot removal, and protection equipment like Swiftfoot Boots keeps Altaïr safe through combat, while Sundial of the Infinite provides a unique line to keep attacking tokens permanently.
