Deck overview

This deck is a high-synergy Dimir control and attrition strategy built around Vren, the Relentless. The deck controls the tempo of the game by forcing opponents to sacrifice creatures through low-cost edicts and asymmetric sweepers. Because Vren permanently exiles opposing creatures whenever they die, it completely shuts down enemy death triggers, aristocrat strategies, and graveyard recursion while simultaneously generating scaling Relentless Rat tokens at each end step. A deep suite of one-mana protection spells and free commander interaction ensures Vren stays on the board through opposing removal. Once a critical mass of Rats is established, the deck transitions into a lethal beatdown clock supported by evasion granters like Marrow-Gnawer and Piper of the Swarm. Alternate win conditions like Bolas's Citadel provide explosive card advantage and life drain if the commander is pressured.
