Deck overview

This deck is an Orzhov lifegain combo-control strategy led by Niv-Mizzet, Ghost Counsel. It leverages low-cost soul sisters like Soul Warden and Auriok Champion to generate constant lifegain triggers. These triggers fuel explosive card draw through the commander and high-value engines like Black Market Connections and Sheoldred, the Apocalypse. The deck transitions into the mid-to-late game by deploying game-ending centerpieces such as Bolas's Citadel or Archangel of Thune, which can overrun opponents through combat or burn. Its primary win condition is an infinite life-drain combo pairing Exquisite Blood or Bloodthirsty Conqueror with Sanguine Bond, Vito, Thorn of the Dusk Rose, or Enduring Tenacity. When any player loses life or gains life, the loop drains every opponent to zero. With efficient removal like Swords to Plowshares and Deadly Rollick, the deck controls opposing threats while steadily assembling its winning board state.
