Deck overview

This deck is a high-velocity Mono-Red Burn and Spellslinger strategy commander by Ojer Axonil, Deepest Might. The game plan revolves around deploying low-cost pinger creatures such as Firebrand Archer, Kessig Flamebreather, and Coruscation Mage on early turns before casting Ojer Axonil on Turn 4. Once Axonil is active, its static replacement effect boosts every 1-damage ping into a severe 4-damage hit against each opponent. By combining Axonil with temporary power-doubling spells like Unleash Fury, Brute Force, and Bulk Up, the deck scales Axonil's power to 7 or 8, turning a sequence of 1-mana burn spells into an immediate 40-damage table kill on Turn 5. The list supports this proactive win condition with impulse draw engines, efficient rituals, and defensive redirection tools like Bolt Bend and Untimely Malfunction, while anti-lifegain enchantments like Roiling Vortex prevent opponents from stabilizing.
