Deck overview

This is an Abzan toughness-matters deck helmed by Doran, Besieged by Time, built to turn enormous butts into both damage and value. The core plan is to deploy high-toughness creatures and walls, then convert their toughness into combat damage through redundant enablers like Doran, the Siege Tower, Assault Formation, Bedrock Tortoise, and Felothar the Steadfast. The commander accelerates the plan by discounting every creature with toughness greater than power and pumping attackers by that same difference. The deck wins primarily through combat, but also features powerful alternate lines: Tree of Perdition life-swaps, Betor, Kin to All's end-step life-halving at 40 total toughness, and Last March of the Ents to dump a board. A Treefolk tribal subtheme with Fangorn, Tree Shepherd and Sapling of Colfenor provides mana and card advantage, while Smile at Death and Colfenor's Urn offer mass recursion.
