Deck overview

This deck is a Grixis Dragon Control strategy commanded by Nicol Bolas, the Ravager. The primary game plan focuses on deploying early mana rocks and Dragon cost reducers to cast mid-curve threats ahead of schedule. On turn 4 to 5, casting the commander strips a card from each opponent while establishing a 4/4 flying body. The deck transitions into the mid-to-late game by deploying formidable Dragon payoffs such as Lathliss, Dragon Queen, Bladewing the Risen, and Dragonlord Silumgar, backed by Nicol Bolas planeswalkers. Damage acceleration from Dragon Tempest and Warstorm Surge converts Dragon entries into direct damage and immediate flying attacks. The deck controls the board with asymmetric wipes like Crux of Fate and Kindred Dominance, alongside flexible instant-speed removal and counterspells. As opponents run low on resources from repeated discard and attrition, the Dragon swarm closes the game by turn 8.
