Deck overview

This deck is a high-power mono-black reanimator and devotion strategy helmed by Baron Helmut Zemo. The game plan revolves around rapidly filling the graveyard with high-mana-symbol black permanents through self-mill, discard, and targeted tutors. Once fifteen black mana pips accumulate in the graveyard, attacking with Baron Helmut Zemo activates his boast ability to cast up to three massive spells for free. These payloads include library decimators like Doomsday Excruciator, life-drain bombs like Gray Merchant of Asphodel, and board dominators like Archfiend of Despair. Supported by fast mono-black mana rituals, efficient removal, and redundant reanimation spells, the deck generates overwhelming tempo on Turn 4. It translates this board presence into a complete table kill by Turn 5 through amplified combat damage or non-combat life loss.
