Deck overview

This deck is an Abzan Aristocrats build centered on token generation, sacrifice outlets, and life-drain payoffs. Although helmed by Felothar, Dawn of the Abzan, the deck functions primarily as an Orzhov token-sacrifice engine due to a severe green mana shortage in the land base. The core strategy curves cheap recursive or death-trigger creatures into free sacrifice outlets like Bartolomé del Presidio and Ashnod's Altar, compounding board presence through token multipliers like Elenda, the Dusk Rose, Felisa, Fang of Silverquill, and Thalisse, Reverent Medium. Victory is achieved by converting token swarms and death triggers into table-wide life drain using Mirkwood Bats, Elas il-Kor, Sadistic Pilgrim, and Vito, Fanatic of Aclazotz, backed by combat damage from flying Inklings and Spirits. While the deck boasts resilient death triggers and quality creature removal, its operational speed is constrained by natural-draw reliance, limited stack interaction, and a dysfunctional green mana package.
