Deck overview

This deck is a competitive Izzet control-combo list built around Niv-Mizzet, Parun. The primary win condition combines the commander with draw-on-damage auras like Curiosity, Ophidian Eye, or Tandem Lookout to trigger a loop that draws the library and deals lethal damage to the table. Niv-Mizzet provides resilience by being uncounterable and turning opposing instants and sorceries into extra cards. The deck accelerates into its six-mana commander using fast artifact mana and rituals, while keeping mana open for free and low-cost interaction. An extensive suite of countermagic, redirects, and bounce spells disrupts opposing win attempts and shields the combo. If the commander is removed, Underworld Breach provides an independent backup win condition.
