Deck overview

This deck is an Orzhov Stax and Lifegain Attrition strategy commanded by Liesa, Shroud of Dusk. The primary game plan focuses on slowing down opponent development using low-cost stax and tax pieces like Blind Obedience, Archon of Emeria, and Rule of Law, followed by deploying Liesa to tax every spell cast with a 2-life penalty. Liesa's lifelink and built-in ability to pay 2 life instead of commander tax break parity on both life totals and commander recasts. The deck applies continuous pressure through aerial combat and compounding drain effects such as Sheoldred, the Apocalypse, Kambal, Consul of Allocation, and Painful Quandary. With premium spot removal, flexible sweepers, and targeted protection from Mother of Runes and Teferi's Protection, the deck grinds down opposing life totals while choking opposing resources, reliably ending the game on Turn 8.
