Vren, stax combo b5 by Terrakhan

Format: Commander

Commander: Vren, the Relentless

Bracket: 5

DeckCheck Threat Index: 90

Deck overview

This deck is a competitive Dimir control and turbo combo list built to execute the format's most efficient win condition: Thassa's Oracle combined with Demonic Consultation or Tainted Pact. Powered by a dense array of positive-mana rocks, dark rituals, and cheap tutors, the deck consistently threatens a Turn 2–3 win while preserving defensive interaction. High-velocity card draw engines such as Ad Nauseam, Necropotence, The One Ring, and Mystic Remora provide continuous card advantage and rapid recovery. In addition to proactive combo lines, the deck fields a disruptive creature suite including Opposition Agent, Orcish Bowmasters, Dauthi Voidwalker, and Notion Thief to punish opposing game plans. Commander Vren, the Relentless provides passive graveyard suppression by exiling opposing dying creatures and converting them into an escalating army of Relentless Rats, serving as both a stax-like deterrent and a secondary combat win condition.
