Deck overview

This Izzet spellslinger deck is built around Vivi Ornitier, a 0/3 wizard that grows with each noncreature spell and can produce a burst of mana equal to its power once per turn. The primary game plan is to chain cheap instants and sorceries, accumulate +1/+1 counters on Vivi, and use the resulting mana to cast massive X-spells like Banefire or Jaya's Immolating Inferno to eliminate all opponents in a single turn. The deck also leverages incremental pingers-Guttersnipe, Coruscation Mage, Vivi Ornitier's own trigger, and Ghyrson Starn, Kelermorph-which amplify each small damage trigger into table-wide pressure. An extra-turn spell, Capture of Jingzhou, provides a second activation of Vivi's mana ability and additional spell chains. The commander is the linchpin of the deck's mana generation; without it, the deck becomes a fair value pile with limited reach.
