Deck overview

This Golgari deck utilizes Grist, Voracious Larva at the helm of an aristocrat-infused reanimator strategy. The game plan focuses on filling the graveyard quickly using self-mill enablers such as Stitcher's Supplier and targeted creature search like Buried Alive. Once big threats are in the yard, cost-effective recursion cards including Victimize, Dread Return, and Apprentice Necromancer deploy massive threats well ahead of standard casting curves. Payoffs like Gray Merchant of Asphodel, Abhorrent Overlord, and Dreadhound pressure all three opponents simultaneously through life drain and wide board presence. While the deck boasts resilient recovery from standard board wipes due to cards like Timeless Witness and flashback spells, it trades instant-speed stack interaction for sorcery-speed removal and remains fundamentally susceptible to dedicated graveyard hate.
