Deck overview

This Azorius deck leverages Kastral, the Windcrested at the helm of a dedicated Bird typal strategy, blending low-curve evasive beaters with potent combat-damage engines. Early turns focus on establishing cheap flying creatures, cost reducers, and mana rocks. Once Kastral enters on turn 4 or 5, combat connections across multiple players generate immense card advantage, reanimation of fallen Birds, or rapid team-wide power buffs. While the deck possesses a robust interactive suite featuring premium countermagic, targeted exile removal, and light taxing pieces like Aven Mindcensor and Aven Interrupter, it closes games strictly through untap-upkeep-draw combat phases. Its flying focus ensures that ground blockers are bypassed effortlessly, but reliance on wide creature boards makes it susceptible to sweepers unless shielded by Teferi's Protection or Sephara, Sky's Blade. Overall, it performs as a cohesive, highly synergistic midrange deck with strong resilience and card velocity.
