Deck overview

This deck is a Rakdos Group Slug engine commanded by Valgavoth, Harrower of Souls. The game plan focuses on deploying low-cost, symmetrical life-loss permanents like Ankh of Mishra, Roiling Vortex, Copper Tablet, and Razorkin Needlehead to penalize opponents for playing lands, drawing cards, and casting spells. Once Valgavoth enters on Turn 3 or 4, these steady pings turn into cards and +1/+1 counters, drawing a card and growing the Demon whenever an opponent loses life on their turn. As opponents struggle against life-gain prevention and continuous damage, damage doublers such as Solphim, Mayhem Dominus and Twinflame Tyrant accelerate the clock alongside flying commander attacks. The deck also includes infinite combo finishes using Exquisite Blood with Marauding Blight-Priest and All Will Be One with Ob Nixilis, Captive Kingpin, reliably closing the game by Turn 7.
