Format: Commander

Commander: Ghoulcaller Gisa

Bracket: 3

Deck overview

This is a mono-black aristocrats/sacrifice deck built around Ghoulcaller Gisa, using high-power creatures as fuel to create massive zombie armies. The primary path to victory is an infinite sacrifice loop - most commonly Gravecrawler plus an altar and a drain effect - or the commander-specific Thornbite Staff line that generates infinite death triggers and mana, finished by Exsanguinate or Torment of Hailfire. A strong reanimation package featuring Reanimate, Animate Dead, Dread Return, and Funeral Room // Awakening Hall gives the deck excellent recovery and a second way to weaponize the graveyard. The commander is important but not a single point of failure: the 99 contains multiple overlapping combo architectures and enough redundant payoffs that the deck can execute its plan even if Gisa is repeatedly answered.
