Deck overview

This deck is a mono-red energy and artifact midrange strategy commanded by Maximus, Knight Apparent. The game plan revolves around generating energy counters through enter-the-battlefield triggers, combat steps, and sacrificing disposable artifacts to Maximus. Once an energy reserve is built, the deck transitions into the mid-game by deploying potent payoffs such as Lightning Runner, Aetherworks Marvel, and Blaster Hulk. Maximus consistently fetches key equipment like T-45 Power Armor to enhance attackers with trample, menace, and lifelink counters. The deck closes out games through aggressive combat damage, extra combat steps, and amplified noncombat burn from cards like Aether Revolt. While the deck features strong internal synergy and high recursion potential through cards like Goblin Welder and Scrap Trawler, it operates on standard mana timing and carries limited countermagic protection, making careful sequencing essential against removal-heavy tables.
