Deck overview

This Sultai deck focuses on high-velocity mana generation and explosive creature scaling under Zaxara, the Exemplary. Zaxara functions as both a repeatable two-mana ramp engine and a token factory, creating an X/X Hydra token whenever any spell with {X} in its mana cost is cast. The deck's early turns prioritize efficient land ramp and artifact acceleration to deploy Zaxara on Turn 3. Once operational on Turn 4, the deck chains potent X-cost creatures and utility spells—including Hydroid Krasis, Voracious Hydra, and Pest Infestation—to rapidly construct a wide, overwhelming board of massive creatures. Force multipliers like Unbound Flourishing, Branching Evolution, and Garruk's Uprising grant trample and double counter production, turning hydras into lethal attackers. While vulnerable to mass exile sweepers and reliant on combat steps, the deck's redundancy, cast-trigger resilience, and high individual threat quality ensure rapid recovery and relentless offensive pressure across typical midrange tables.
