Deck overview

This is a Simic token-and-copy value deck helmed by Volo, Guide to Monsters, whose copy trigger rewards casting a diverse spread of creature types. The deck packs an unusually wide creature-type roster - Faerie, Horror, Insect, Ooze, Serpent, Ape Shaman, Boar, Drake, Frog, Golem, Dryad, Sphinx and more - so nearly every creature spell gets copied into a token. The plan is to snowball copied token engines (Avenger of Zendikar, Hornet Queen, Tendershoot Dryad) into a massive board, amplify the copying with Twinning Staff, Roaming Throne, and Wizard's Staff, then close with an overrun finisher (Craterhoof Behemoth, End-Raze Forerunners, Pathbreaker Ibex, or a big Finale of Devastation). Secondary lines include Rite of Replication and Second Harvest to multiply the board, plus a clunky Peregrine Drake untap loop. It is a midrange go-wide deck that wins through combat rather than a fast combo.
