Deck overview

This Sultai Elf combo deck is built entirely around Thranduil, the Elvenking's signature ability to wield every activated ability of Elf cards in the graveyard. The primary plan is to bin key mana-producing Elves - Selvala, Heart of the Wilds, Priest of Titania, Devoted Druid, and Heritage Druid - via Buried Alive, Entomb, and Unmarked Grave, then cast Thranduil and use his stolen abilities with Staff of Domination to generate infinite mana. Wins come through Finale of Devastation, Ezuri, Renegade Leader's overrun, or Lathril, Blade of the Elves's life-drain. A dense Elf-tribal beatdown plan with lords and token generation (Imperious Perfect, Thranduil the Strategist) provides a fallback, while an elite tutor suite (Demonic Tutor, Vampiric Tutor, Worldly Tutor, Fauna Shaman) ensures the combo assembles reliably. The commander's second ability - drawing two on each legendary Elf ETB - keeps the hand full.
