Burn the Heretics by iggysenpai

Format: Commander

Commander: Mathas, Fiend Seeker

Bracket: 2

Deck overview

Mathas, Fiend Seeker heads a Mardu goad and group-slug deck that forces opponents to attack each other while punishing every card they draw. The primary plan stacks forced-combat auras (Ghoulish Impetus, Parasitic Impetus, Martial Impetus, Coercive Impetus) and mass goad (Disrupt Decorum, Taunt from the Rampart, Geode Rager) behind pillowfort pieces (Crawlspace, No Mercy, Nils) and drains with Sheoldred, Scrawling Crawler, Spiteful Visions, Underworld Dreams, Razorkin Needlehead and Font of Mythos. Mathas adds political bounty counters that replace themselves when the target dies. Secondary paths use Curse of Misfortunes to tutor Overwhelming Splendor or Curse of Fool's Wisdom, Athreos, Shroud-Veiled as a hidden theft engine, and Insurrection to steal a developed board for lethal.
