Deck overview

Smeagol, Helpful Guide heads a Golgari landfall-and-sacrifice value deck. The main loop is simple: play lands, create tokens with Zendikar's Roil, Rampaging Baloths, and Field of the Dead, then sacrifice them for draw or mana. Smeagol's Ring tempts trigger steals opponents' lands and mills their decks, compounding every landfall. Secondary paths are an aristocrats-style drain via Bastion of Remembrance and Syr Konrad, plus a large token alpha strike with Avenger of Zendikar. The deck wants a long midrange game where each fetch land and sacrificed token multiplies resources. A non-deterministic infinite landfall combo exists around Smeagol, Dunedain Rangers, Ashnod's Altar, Bloodghast, and a token generator.
