Bring Forth Depression | The Sentry, Golden Guardian by beesk

Format: Commander

Commander: The Sentry, Golden Guardian

Bracket: 3

Deck overview

This mono-white Hero tribal deck, led by The Sentry, Golden Guardian, turns its commander into an indestructible 5/5 flyer with vigilance while forcing an opponent to also control a 5/5 indestructible Villain token that attacks each combat if able. The primary game plan is to amass a board of legendary Hero creatures, suit them up with Equipment and Auras (Buster Sword, Loxodon Warhammer, Super-Soldier Serum, With Great Power...), and win through combat damage amplified by keyword sharing (Odric, Lunarch Marshal), double strike (Duelist's Heritage), and goad/tax effects that protect the life total. Flicker spells (Cloudshift, Ephemerate, Eerie Interlude) recycle ETB triggers and dodge removal, while Pariah / Pariah's Shield on the indestructible commander redirects all damage away from you. Card advantage comes from conditional draw triggers (Archivist of Oghma, Everett K. Ross, Hapless Attache, The Queen of Dale) and the occasional spell (Secret Rendezvous, Cut a Deal). The deck has no infinite combos and relies on incremental board growth and sustained pressure.
