Format: Commander

Commander: Valgavoth, Harrower of Souls

Bracket: 4

Deck overview

Valgavoth, Harrower of Souls leads a Rakdos group-slug deck that punishes every draw, land drop, and mana tap. The commander turns the first life loss each opponent suffers into cards and counters, feeding a board of pain permanents such as Manabarbs, Zo-Zu, and Spiteful Visions. The deck finishes with Peer into the Abyss targeting a large library while Razorkin Needlehead, Sheoldred, the Apocalypse, or Spiteful Visions converts each drawn card into damage. Backup lines include commander damage, Bolas's Citadel, and sacrifice-based drains. It is a mid-speed, noninteractive-leaning deck that wants to outlast slower tables through symmetrical effects and then combo.
