Deck overview

This deck is an Orzhov lifegain, token aggro, and attrition deck commanded by Liesa, Shroud of Dusk. The primary strategy establishes early life buffer and board presence using soul sisters such as Lunarch Veteran and Authority of the Consuls, followed by deploying Liesa on Turn 5. Once on the battlefield, Liesa levies a persistent 2-life tax on every spell cast while using her 5/5 flying lifelink body to outpace opponents in resource races. Secondary engines like Adeline, Resplendent Cathar, Angelic Accord, and Painful Quandary expand the board and accelerate life loss. While the deck lacks explosive mana acceleration and fast infinite combos, Liesa's unique commander tax ability—paying life instead of mana—provides exceptional commander recovery after board wipes, enabling a resilient grind toward a Turn 9 combat and attrition finish.
